life recently

At the beginning of summer, I applied to take part in a wedding fair – and was delighted to be given the opportunity to exhibit there. I decided to take on the challenge and have been working diligently towards it ever since. Preparing all the promotional materials turned out to be quite a task. I had never printed my own flyers before, and I needed business cards featuring a recent illustration.

I especially enjoyed making myself comfortable with a cappuccino while sketching. I came up with the concept for the illustration on my business card fairly quickly – but I actually started the drawing from scratch seven times. I just couldn’t get the lighting right. Now the cards are finally being printed, and I’m hoping I’ll be happy with the final result.

my entry on the website of the wedding fair

It was quite a special feeling when the fair’s programme finally went live on their website. Seeing my own images featured there and thinking about all the people browsing through the programme with excitement and anticipation felt both surreal and wonderful.

I must admit, I am a little nervous. What will visitors expect? Will I be able to meet those expectations? Will they like my work? I have spent so many hours at my desk, but soon I will be facing real reactions to pieces that mean a lot to me. That is often a truly lovely experience, but beforehand it can also feel a little daunting.

The templates for the bridesmaid proposal cards were also a very time-consuming project. I have been working on them for several months, and once, when I was almost finished, I decided to start all over again. But that’s how long it takes when I want to offer you the very best quality. Now the templates are finally available in my shop.

custom menu's illustrated with watercolours

The samples I enjoyed making the most were probably the menu cards. Cosy in the evenings with my watercolours and a hot cup of tea. I have to admit, I am starting to feel a bit of a festive mood now that the leaves are falling and the days are so short. What do you think of custom-made menu cards?

You can look forward to all the other projects I have been working on over the past few weeks. See you soon!
