Project Overview

A bespoke Save the Date card sets the visual tone for a wedding long before the invitations are posted. For this commission, the couple wished for a timeless, personal illustration that subtly introduced their chosen venue while keeping the focus on their connection.

The Process: From Reference to Paper

Creating a fully tailored illustration requires surprisingly little from the couple. To bring this design to life, all that was needed were three core elements:

• The Location: A photograph of the venue to capture its architectural character, surrounding nature and atmosphere.
• The Wardrobe: Details or images of the chosen outfits and color palette.
• The Pose: A reference photo or sketch to define the mood and composition of the couple.

These references were translated into a cohesive, hand-drawn artwork.

The Outcome

A refined, one-of-a-kind keepsake that offers guests a beautiful first glance at the upcoming celebration, laying the foundation for a bespoke suite of wedding stationery.
