just go

Sometimes it's important to just go. To simply follow the idea and break the rhythm of everyday life.

The study schedule defines the weekly rhythm during the semester. While the days are filled with lectures, the evenings are reserved for working on submissions. Even at the weekend, things have to be done, models finalised and plans constructed. The weeks fly by as you think only from submission to submission.

Last week there was suddenly a gap. A lecture that can be watched online, a critique session that was already over and a day on which we work independently and don't necessarily have to be on site.

My team partner and I were a bit exhausted and knew that there was still a lot of work to be done on the project. That's why we spontaneously decided that we had to get out of here. A change of scenery, far-sightedness, mountains. Two hours later we were on the train.

We then went to my colleague's chalet for one night. We worked a lot on our project and enjoyed the view. The highlight was of course when the first snow fell and everything was white when we got up in the morning.

On the second day, we took the time to take a few photos in the snow to clear our heads.

It was good to learn and work in a completely different place. Our projects demand a lot of creativity, a lot of ideas and a lot of time pressure. That's not always so easy.

Sometimes you get to a point where you just don't know what's up and what's down after all the hours of thinking about it. That's when a change often helps you to somehow get back on track.
